In our family, Christmas Season kicks off with our trip out to Loch Lolly Christmas Forest in North Plains, Oregon. It may seem silly for us to drive this far - it's no where near our house and there are plenty of tree farms in our area... but every year we are lured back to the magic of this place. Maybe it's the anticipation during the drive through the beautiful back roads and farm land. Maybe it's the pond with the fire pit close by where we sit and drink hot cocoa after we find the perfect tree (which is certainly a nicer tree than the one the year before). Maybe it's watching the awe and wonder in our boys faces as they see Santa coming down the gravel road toward his sled which sits on the porch of his "cabin" as Spencer describes it. I'm not sure what specifically gets us back there, but this is one event we look forward to every year.

What a fun tradition that your family will remember through the years. It looks and sounds like you had so much fun!
