After celebrating the 4th at Aunt Carrie's house, we headed home to enjoy some neighborhood fireworks. The kids were super excited this year, especially Spencer! I'd forgotten how exciting smoke bombs can be for a little kid. He's at the age now, where he can actually light them so that was super fun as well. Most fireworks are illegal in Oregon, so there was nothing incredibly awesome, but the kids still thought it was the best thing ever. Isn't that what counts? Once the kids were in bed, Kent and I watched "Saving Private Ryan" (aka, the movie that Matt Damon wasn't in enough but all us girls flocked to the movie theater to see anyway). It was actually kinda crazy to watch with the fireworks going off as background noise. We really enjoyed being home with our little family hanging out in the front yard. It was lovely.

He's growing up so fast!

Smoke Bombs ARE fun!

Yep... this is about exciting as it gets! If only I'd captured the look on Spencer's face when he turned around to look at me. The expression of excitement was priceless, indeed.
