It's so hard to believe I have a first grader! Spencer loved his first day of school. He was super excited yesterday morning as I packed his lunch. He complained that his bangs needed to be cut (uhm... no). He also panicked as he realized the shirt he had carefully selected for his first day had short sleeves. We enjoyed a nice walk to school with neighbors and there was no apprehension at all as we walked into the school building and he joined his class in line in the gym.
How did I do? It was one.long.day. I think I looked at the clock about 80 times. It felt like such a long time to have him gone at school! I seriously questioned whether I was doing the right thing. I did some relaxing at home with Hudson & Finley and then took them to The Coffee Cottage for a treat. Then we grabbed a few groceries and headed home so I could stare at the clock some more.
I was so happy to see my boy run off that bus and into my arms. He absolutely loved his first day and I look forward to hearing more about what he learns and watching him grow this year. They grow up too fast.

WOW you guys get a mascot on the first day? Lucky! haha Spencer is SO cute. I remember how exciting my first days of school were, how fun. :-)
Spencer is the cutest little guy ever. I loved that he wanted his bangs cut again!! Glad you did ok with him being gone and hope it gets easier for you!
It is a LONG day, isn't it? Pretty soon you will get into a routine, though, and you will love it!!
