Hudson's Christmas Program

Hudson had his Christmas Program at Preschool this last week. We've seen this very program 6 times thus far. Not because our kids have been in preschool for that long, but because at this particular school the kids run through the program twice. Just to make sure we don't miss anything and get ample photo opportunities. Of course because this preschool has the cutest kids of all the preschools, we don't mind a bit. It's funny if you think about it... by the time all 3 kids go through this school... we'll have seen it 12 times.

I was a little concerned about Hudson going into the program for two reasons:

First off, at school a couple weeks before the program (which is really very recent as he only goes to school 2 times per week)... he burst into tears during their rendition of "Twinkle Little Star." His problem? They were singing it "wrong." He had learned the basic lyrics from a young age and when preschool informed him that they were singing it, "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Wise Men Coming From A Far..." he decided that that simply would NOT do. My normally very amiable little boy started sobbing and insisting, "don't sing it like DAT, dat is not how da song go!" When his sweet teacher informed me of this, I did ask her why they couldn't just sing it right (sarcastically).

Our second issue occurred just 5 minutes before we were due to go out the door. Mom & Dad were here having dinner with us and somehow, despite all my mental planning, I was not ready to go. We were scrambling to dress the kids, gather cameras, diapers and misc things we might need (and misc things that didn't need to be done at the moment but were being done anyhow). Hudson was running upstairs (what? a boy... running in the house?) and somehow launched himself into the redwood chest hitting it square on his nose. I was shocked he was not gushing blood he hit it so hard!

But somehow the program went without a hitch. Hudson stood up there and sang and did the hand motions when he felt like it. Sometimes staring at the ceiling and sometimes at the teachers standing behind him, but my sweet boy stood up there (in the back row) and did his job well. Yay Hudson! And we got to see it twice!

As usual (do you expect any different) here are some photos. In case you're wondering... he's a chicken. So cute!

Singing away!

Hi Mom!

Yep, we're here to sing songs! And I'm a chicken!
